MecaMap Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the MecaMap app (com.asperor.mecamap) collects, uses and protects its users' information. Please read it carefully before using the app.

2. What data does the app collect?

MecaMap is an internal tool for facility maintenance teams (factories, hospitals, hotels, logistics centres, office buildings, universities). Each client company creates its own company account, closed off from every other company. For the app to work, the following data is sent to and stored on our server:

Account data: name, email address and password (stored as a hash, never in plain text) of each user (admin or employee).
Company data: company name, 6-character access code, the zones created within the company, and which employees are approved for which zones.
User-generated technical content: equipment records (name, photos, location and notes), breakers/shut-off valves and the relationships between them. This content belongs to the company, not to the person who enters it.
Subscription data: if an administrator subscribes to MecaMap, we store the purchase identifier provided by Google Play, the product subscribed to, its status, its expiry date and which administrator made the purchase. We do not receive or store any payment details (card or bank account): payment is handled by Google Play.
Password reset codes: if you ask to reset your password, we email you a code. It is stored encrypted and expires after 15 minutes.

MecaMap does not request or store the device's GPS location: an item's "location" is a text description and/or a photo provided by the user (for example, a photo of the floor plan or the electrical panel), not the phone's coordinates.

This data is stored on the MecaMap server, an OVHcloud VPS located in France (European Union) and managed by the data controller.

"1 year free" form on the website: if you sign up for the free trial, we collect your name, your company's name, its sector, the number of technicians, your email and, if you provide it, your mobile number. This reaches us by email, is not stored in any database and is only used to contact you about the free trial. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

3. Purpose of processing

Creating and managing your account and session by means of an access token.
Keeping each client company's data separate from the others and, within a company, showing each employee only the zones their administrator has assigned to them.
Allowing users to search and browse items, breakers and their relationships within the facility.
Checking with Google Play that the company's subscription is active.
Sending you the emails your account needs, such as the password reset code.
Contacting people who sign up for the free trial on the website.

4. Transfer of data to third parties

MecaMap does not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising purposes. No advertising networks or third-party analytics SDKs are integrated.

The following providers are involved in delivering the service:

OVHcloud (France, EU): server hosting and sending emails.
Google Play (Google): subscription billing and checking its status. We only query it with the purchase identifier and an anonymous company identifier, never with your name or email. The payment itself is governed by Google's privacy policy.

5. Visibility between users

A company's data (zones, items, breakers) is only visible to approved users of that same company and, within it, an employee only sees the zones the administrator has assigned to them. No company can see another company's data.

6. Data security

Passwords are always stored as a hash (never in plain text). Access to the API uses individual, revocable session tokens, sent only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to the server is restricted to the data controller.

7. Minors

MecaMap is not intended for minors, and no data from minors is knowingly collected.

8. User rights

You can access, rectify or delete your data at any time:

By editing your profile in the app.
By requesting the complete deletion of your account by writing to stefanradilov@gmail.com.

9. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any significant change will be communicated in the app itself or by email to each company's administrators. The "last updated" date at the top of the document will always reflect the version in force.

11. Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account at any time from the app itself (Profile → Delete account) or, without installing the app, from this page. The items and circuits you have recorded are kept as your company's knowledge, but are no longer linked to your name.
